Potential Large Project

We want to keep you informed as we evaluate a potential large project in our area.

Cimarron has been approached by Cloverleaf Infrastructure, the developers of a proposed data center known as Project Open Sky, which is planned for the eastern edge of our service territory, and early discussions are underway.

We appreciate the open and transparent way Cloverleaf has engaged with us so far. Their team has emphasized being a good neighbor and has shared their intent to fully fund the project with no costs shifted to our members.

As a member-owned cooperative, everything we do starts with you.

We do have an obligation to serve—but our first obligation is to protect the members who own this cooperative. That means any large project must pay its full cost to serve and deliver a real, measurable benefit to our membership.

No final agreements have been made. We will continue to evaluate this opportunity carefully—through the lens of affordability, reliability, and long-term value for you and your co-op. That includes ensuring it does not impact the availability of power for our growing residential and commercial members or jeopardize the stability of our grid.

We’ll keep you informed as discussions continue, and we appreciate the trust you place in us to make decisions in the best interest of our members.

Cloverleaf will host a Piedmont Community Open House on May 14, (6-8 p.m. at the Wildcat Athletic Center) to ensure community members have accurate information directly from their team.

Cimarron’s Commitment:
“Our responsibility is clear: our membership comes first. While we have an obligation to serve, our top priority is to ensure no costs are shifted to our members. Any large load must stand on its own and clearly benefit the people who own this cooperative.”
