Cimarron Electric purchases all of the power it sells to its members from Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC), a generation and transmission cooperative. Cimarron Electric, along with 21 other cooperatives in Oklahoma and New Mexico, owns Western Farmers.
WFEC owns and operates a diverse power generation fleet consisting of gas and coal generation in addition to solar and wind facilities. WFEC also has power purchase agreements for wind, solar, natural gas and hydro-electric generation.
The percentages listed below represent and average of WFEC’s kilowatt-hour (kWh) input into the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) Market for 2021. All kWh’s are then purchased from the market at SPP’s blend of power.
