Cimarron Electric Cooperative will hold elections at District Meetings for those persons residing in Districts 4, 6 and 8. Cimarron Electric trustees are elected by other Cimarron Electric members within the same district. Trustees are required to attend board meetings and special meetings to represent the needs of members in their district. It is the responsibility of Cimarron Electric trustees to gain information regarding the cooperative so they can answer any questions their members might have. According to cooperative by-laws, each trustee must be a Cimarron Electric Cooperative member and reside within the district in which they are seeking election. No person shall be eligible who is in anyway employed by or financially interested in a competing enterprise or a business selling electric energy or supplies to the cooperative. Any Cimarron Electric member who wishes to be a candidate for election as trustee, must file written notice of his or her intention during the period specified for each district. Filing forms, maps of each district, and a list of members in each district are available at the Cimarron Electric Cooperative office in Kingfisher. No person is eligible for election unless this filing is made during the specified time. Watch your mail, members residing in Districts 4, 6 and 8 will be mailed a notice prior to these district meetings.
