Meter Replacement Project

Upgrading Our System to Serve You Better

Cimarron Electric Cooperative is upgrading its meter reading system to support reliable service, faster outage response, and long-term system performance.

Our current system continues to provide accurate readings and has served members well for many years. However, it is nearing the end of its service life, and parts and support are becoming harder to obtain.

As a member-owned cooperative, we do not take investments like this lightly. This project is about strengthening the foundation of our electric system and improving how we serve members across our service area.

Project Timeline

Planned System Rollout

Start: June 2026
Project begins with initial meter replacements across the service area.
In Progress: 2026-2027
Crews will continue replacing meters in phases across all areas of the system.
Estimated Completion: December 2027
Full system upgrade expected to be complete across the cooperative.

What to expect during installation

  • Most installations are quick and routine.
  • A brief outage will typically occur while the meter is exchanged.
  • An attempt will be made to notify you by knocking on your door before work occurs.
  • If no one is home, crews may still complete the work as part of the upgrade process.
  • All employees and contractors will carry identification and follow safety procedures.
Why This Upgrade Matters
