Cimarron Electric Co-op distributes electricity from 22 substations, over 4,700 miles of line, to 15,500 meters in 9 counties.
We Upgraded 6 of our substations and the lines that supplied them in the central and east sides of our service area.. The 69Kv lines were upgraded to 138Kv and the substation transformers from 7200 to 14,400 volts. It really helped the reliability of service in those areas.
We completed a 3 year project to rebuild 1249 miles of line in our western service area. This hardening and strengthening of 1/4 of our lines is a major upgrade to improve service and reliability to our member-owners.
We have built 3 new substations in the Kingfisher, Omega and Geary areas and are converting some substations to larger transformers to handle more loads. Additional substations are under construction.
