Accepting Applications for a Financial Analyst

Cimarron Electric is accepting applications for a Financial Analyst.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required
  • Business or IT degree (Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics) is preferred
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (including MS Excel) Required
  • Experience with database, reporting or data visualization tools (Spotfire or PowerBI) preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with department leaders to effectively gather data/reporting requirements and build analytical datasets, visualizations and tools while being the liaison between technical teams and management.
  • Develop insightful analysis using internal and external data to gain insights that will drive strategic business decisions.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations for business stakeholders and maintain the integrity of the reports.
  • Process a large amount of data and do in-depth analysis to understand certain trends/patterns, carry out correlation analysis to identify causes and relatedness
  • Prepare analysis of financial results, operating impact, and variance analysis
  • Support budget, forecasting model & reporting tools for the management team and functional leaders to provide improved visibility and accuracy of business projection
  • Support integration efforts to align consolidated reporting, planning and analysis
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the Cooperative’s software systems including but not limited to NISC ivue, meter data management, etc. Extract information from these software systems in order to prepare reports, presentations, analysis, etc.
  • Provide financial and strategic support to management including preparing Board presentations, financial presentations, and other projects. This will include MS Excel support, visualization creation (graphs/charts), and presenting the information in a constructive manner
  • Assist with the various Accounting and Finance tasks as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs as required.
  • Keep informed of and provides support for Cooperative goals, policies, plans and programs to assist the Cooperative in providing services which meet the expectations of our members and to allow the Cooperative to continue to be a positive influence within its service area.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, may be assigned to perform other duties from time to time.

  • Physical Effort and Dexterity: Good dexterity to operate personal computer and office equipment.
  • Job requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment.
  • Some travel may be required
